Our Teacher

Hello, my name is Karla. I am a native Spanish speaker born in Costa Rica. I speak Spanish and English. I have a degree in Computer Science Engineering from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. Also, I have a degree in Spanish Teaching as a Second Language from Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (TEC) and another degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (UNA), where I graduated with honors. Finally, I have a Master’s degree in Education from UNA.

I am originally from San Isidro de El General but I studied and worked in the capital city and in the province of Heredia. After six years, I decided to go back to San Isidro de El General to start an academy for teaching Spanish to foreigners and English to Costa Rican children as a second language.

I teach Spanish using the Communicative Method which consists of using real life situations to communicate in Spanish during the class. Also, I like using different resources, ensuring the classes are varied and interesting. In my classes you will learn Costa Rican culture and Spanish at the same time. I have more than five years of experience teaching children, teenagers, and adults. I look forward to teaching you and helping you to learn Spanish and have fun along the way.
