Our Teaching Methodology

We believe that the best way to teach and learn Spanish is by using real-life situations that will give you confidence and prepare you for communication in Costa Rica.  We teach you specific phrases and vocabulary, so you can communicate with locals in Spanish. For instance, in our classes we teach Costa Rican slang, our traditions and culture. It helps the students to get familiar with the way Costa Ricans live.

We also prepare you to learn Spanish for when you want to take a taxi, a bus or rent a car. In addition, you learn how ask for directions, shop in a supermarket, use the bank and understand “colones”. We also teach you about eating in a “soda” (a small local traditional food restaurant in Costa Rica). Connecting Spanish with authentic experiences of real life in the classroom will help you feel confident and experience the culture in a closer way.

Making local friends in our country is another opportunity to practice your Spanish. In our courses, you will learn how to meet people and expressions to interact with new friends. There are many ways you can meet new people in Costa Rica, for example, you can volunteer in a public institution, join a gym or a local sports team, and also take Spanish classes. You can go to the farmers market on Thursdays in San Isidro de El General (the largest fair in the region), you can attend a church or visit tourist sights.
